Creative Fellowship: Supporting Bipoc Art

The Future Is Black is set to expand its programmatic services, offering enhanced support to artists by co-creating value through various programs. Our flagship initiative, The Creative Fellowship, targets designers and visual artists seeking to contribute to and benefit from a burgeoning art ecosystem. This fellowship aims to empower visual artists with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the modern artistic world.

About the creative fellowship

The Creative Fellowship is an 8-month incubator/accelerator experience designed to amplify opportunities for advancing BIPOC arts. Through monthly community design labs, it focuses on skill development, capacity building, and networking, employing participatory engagement and human-centered design approaches.

The program is framed as an accelerator to nurture and accelerate the growth of participants. Personalized technical assistance further enriches the program and culminates in an art showcase, establishing a lasting community of alumni artists. Participants gain a holistic approach to enhancing marketability, boosting sales, and securing opportunities to showcase their art in various art exhibits.

Through these opportunities, the fellowship aims to strengthen community engagement, sales, and visibility for creatives, providing a structured path for emerging talents to build a strong community contributing to the broader artistic landscape. Our Creative Fellowship will include services like Advertising, Events, Tabling Opportunities, Networking, and Brand Strategy.

who is this for?

Emerging creatives committed to their craft and interested in fostering a thriving creative ecosystem in the region are encouraged to apply. Selected fellows will receive project support associated with the final showcase. The fellowship is particularly suitable for those committed to developing resilient and equitable creative ecosystems, BIPOC creatives interested in collaborative leadership skills, and those looking to enhance skills for increased sales and visibility.
